A Case Drain Is Required

Every Vortex model requires a case drain line. Running a high-torque hydraulic motor without one builds back-pressure on the shaft seal and will destroy the motor. If your machine has no case drain port, tell us before ordering.

Mini skid steers take the 20" on 12–20 GPM. Standard-flow skid steers and excavators take the 27" on 18–30 GPM. High-flow machines take the 31" on 30–45 GPM.

Do I really need a case drain?
Yes, on every model without exception. Running without one builds back-pressure on the motor's shaft seal and causes failure.

Can I run the Vortex on an excavator?
Yes. Both the 27" standard flow and 31" high flow are available in excavator configurations.

Do the mini models need a separate mounting plate?
Only if your machine is not mini universal. Bobcat MT and Mini ASV variants already include the correct plate in the listed price.

What is the difference between the 27" and 31"?
Wheel size and flow requirement. The 27" runs on standard-flow hydraulics; the 31" needs a high-flow machine but takes larger stumps in fewer passes.
